I live in Columbia, Missouri, and I love vintage modern furniture, accessories, and architecture. My definition of vintage modern is pretty loose- I like the streamlined furniture of the 1930s and 1940s, and the mid-century modern furniture of the 1950s-1970s.
I’ve been obsessively checking out eBay, Etsy, and Craigslist for mid-Missouri vintage modern finds for several months. I’ve seen several really cool items reposted for lack of interest, which made me sad because I was certain that they were underpriced and underappreciated. I wanted to find homes for this stuff with the mid-century modern lovers in my area.
In addition, I might sometimes post reviews of antique stores, thrift stores, and other places where mid-century modern goodies can be found, and I hope to talk a little about architecture. All of this comes from a place of love for this style. I try to do research on my topics, but I don’t have any background in design or architecture. I’m just an enthusiastic fan.
I’ll link directly to the listing of any item. If you would like to make a submission, please email me directly with the listing. Here are the submission guidelines:
- Items listed must be in the general mid-Missouri area.
- Item must be vintage (at least 25-30 years old), reasonably clean, and in good condition.
- Submission must include a link to a listing with photos of the actual item. (I will not blog about any listing without photos.) Photos should be good and I should be able to tell the color & condition of the item.
- Furniture, home decor accessories, and electronics only (for the most part).

My own guidelines:
- I will generally check Craigslist daily and eBay weekly. I will check the Craigslist posting for the mid-Missouri area only, but I may post items items that are within about 200 miles of Columbia (what I consider an easy day’s drive) especially if they are particularly cool.
- I’ll post mostly about vintage modern style from the 1950s-1970s, with occasional posts about items from the 1930s-1940s. I am not particularly interested in new reproductions or styles outside these timeframes.
- Reviews of antique stores, thrift stores, and other storefronts may be anywhere that I happen to travel, but I will make a particular effort to visit and review the ones local to Columbia. My goal with these reviews is to see if any of them tend to carry good selections of vintage modern furniture or accessories.
- All of my blog posts about items for sale will include images- I won’t blog about any items without photos. In addition, I will make an effort to include photos of my own with other blog posts.
