Bentwood Rocker in Ashland
I called about this one myself, because the Craigslist ad says that it has a cloth seat and back, rather than the typical rattan version (so that is not an actual picture of the chair). The very nice lady who is selling it told me that it is a tan velour fabric in very good condition, and that she is selling it because she has to go into an assisted living facility.
I think she thought I was crazy when I told her that I would write about it on my blog, but I hope she sells it to one of you lovely people (tell her you read about it here, please, so she doesn’t think I’m crazy). These chairs have become very popular these days and this is a reasonable price. If the color of the fabric worked for me, I would definitely snap this up.
$65 in Ashland (about 20 minutes south of Columbia).

Stereo Console in Columbia
Danish Modern Stereo Console
I love these. I wanted one last year for a television stand, and settled on a credenza instead. Which is probably for the better, actually. With the hollow spot in the middle for the turntable, these aren’t generally strong enough to hold a big heavy non-flatscreen television. (What? It hasn’t died yet. When it dies, I’ll go all LCD.)
Anyway! The seller says you can play an iPod on this if you use RCA cables, which is pretty cool. I’m sure the seller would give you a lesson if you wanted to learn.
$150 in Columbia.

Vintage Barber Chair in Columbia
Check out this barber chair with the molded plywood. It reminds me of the classic Eames lounge chair design. I’m sure it’s not a coincidence. While I’m not sure it’s of much practical use, unless you like to cut other people’s hair in your house on a regular basis, and it probably weighs three tons, it’s pretty cool and it would look really neat in a corner of your house. If you have a spare corner for something like this, anyway.
$100 OBO in Columbia. Here’s the link: Vintage Barber Chair.
(Not the first vintage barber chair that I’ve posted!)
Craigslist (Outside Columbia)
Bentwood Rocker. A little pricey. The seller is aware of what these go for on eBay but not willing to ship. But it looks like it’s nice shape and I like these rockers.
$200 at Lake of the Ozarks. Here’s the link: Rocker.
Wood Desk. Another thing that is a little pricier than I would think, but these are usually solid desks, and this one looks like it is in good shape.
$100 in Eugene (about 20 minutes southwest of Jefferson City). Here’s the link: School desk.
Slipper Chair. Needs to be reupholstered, but I like the tapered legs. If you chose a really bright modern patterned fabric, or even a solid-color boucle, and if you left the skirt off, it would be a cute addition to a bedroom or a nice chair for a corner in the house.
$15 in Jefferson City. Here’s the link: Antique Chair.
Vintage Pyrex. I believe this is the Butterprint pattern in blue. The seller says that one dish has a chip, but the two smaller dishes are complete with lids.
$10 in Moberly (about 30 minutes north of Columbia). Here’s the link: Pyrex Refrigerator Dishes.
Metal Rocking Lawn Chair. Needs some paint, and then it’s perfect for your patio.
$20 in Jefferson City. Here’s the link: Rocking Metal Lawn Chair.
Chromcraft Table and Chairs in Moberly
I love these chairs!
The seller emailed me with bigger pictures for this table & chair set that he posted on Craigslist, so I’ve uploaded them here. He is pretty specific with details in the ad, and he is open to offers.
$120 for the set. Here’s the link: Chromcraft ’69 Table and Chairs.
Columbia Craigslist
Danish Dining Set. Complete set includes table with 3 leaves (and protective pads for the top), 6 side chairs, 2 arm chairs, hutch, and buffet. Probably very nice condition. The price still seems a little high, though. More pictures on the ad.
$500 in Boonville. Here’s the link: Complete dining set.
Modern Executive Desk. This looks enormous, and unless it comes apart, it will probably be a real pain to move it. But it sure looks cool from what I can tell in the pictures. It would probably fit well in your office along one wall, and I’m sure it could handle both computer and television. Or, you know, you could actually use it as a desk. Plus the price is awesome.
$20 in Columbia. Here’s the link: Large Solid Oak Heavy Desk.
Blue Chair. I like this one a lot, and I almost considered calling about it for my own house, but I don’t think the color will work for me. I love the lines, though, and the seller says that it’s in perfect condition.
$20 in Jefferson City. Here’s the link: Blue Chair.
Vintage Couch. More of that gold/green! Seller doesn’t list condition.
$50 in Columbia. Here’s the link: Vintage Couch.
Columbia Craigslist
Everyone must be spring cleaning! A whole lot of neat vintage stuff appeared on Craigslist over the weekend.
Heywood Wakefield Dresser with mirror. The seller emailed me personally so I am listing this one at the top. Good condition.
$500 in Columbia. Here’s the link: Heywood Wakefield dresser.
Kitchen Table and 4 Chairs. We see a lot of vintage Formica tables on Craigslist, and this is an earlier example of the style. I’ve seen this type before, but rarely in red! And it comes with four vinyl/chrome chairs. The seller says that three of the chairs are in perfect shape and one is not, but that might work for you if you want to put this table up against a wall in your kitchen!
$100 in Columbia. Here’s the link: Vintage Retro Dinette Table.
Swivel Chair. Wow! What style! I love that tulip/Eames base. I am certain that this has been reupholstered, but I think it looks pretty good. Seller says the chair was made in Switzerland.
$65 in Southwest Columbia. Here’s the link: Euro Swivel Chair.
White Danish Chair. This one is pretty stylish too. Check out the link for the other picture- I decided to highlight the fabric rather than the shape, but both look like they’re in excellent condition. Cream vinyl fabric, no major damage.
$25 in Columbia. Here’s the link: Retro Chair from 60s.
Student Desk. A bit scratched up, but it has a nice shape. My grandparents had some school desks in the basement, and we loved playing at them when we were little.
$10 in Jefferson City. Here’s the link: Student Desk.
Orange Chair. Somewhere between vintage modern and pub style.
$30 in Jefferson City. Here’s the link: Funky Orange Chair.
Yellow Bar Chair. Yellow vinyl and white metal. A little pricey compared to today’s other offerings, but honestly I think a lot of the other stuff above is priced way too low!
$70 (no location listed). Here’s the link: Vintage Mod Yellow Chair.
Dentist Chair in California MO
Vintage Dentist’s Chair in gold vinyl with wood arms. The hydraulics work. I love it, but it would weigh a ton and it probably would not be very comfortable in front of the TV.
$95 in California, Missouri (about twenty minutes west of Jefferson City). Here’s the link: Dentist Chair.
Columbia Craigslist
Retro Coffee Table with built-in turntable and radio. Is it really a coffee table or just a low credenza? Either way, seller says the phonograph works and that’s rare in these. Not that they can’t be fixed, but it’s nice that this one doesn’t need it. Several pictures in the ad.
$100 in Columbia. Here’s the link: Vintage Retro Coffee Table.
Baby Scale. I posted one of these before because I thought it was interesting. Then I saw a photographer use one of these as a prop for newborn baby photos, and I thought was on the cute end of the newborn-baby-photo-prop spectrum. Has this one been painted matte white? I’m giving it the benefit of the doubt and saying no.
$30 in Northeast Columbia. Here’s the link: Antique Baby Scale.
Vintage Sleeper Sofa. I like this green-gold vintage fabric. It was very popular then. Probably insanely heavy.
$50 in Columbia. Here’s the link: Vintage Sleeper Sofa.
Vintage Table. Formica table with leaf and six vinyl chairs. If the chairs are in good shape, this is a good price.
$200 in Rocheport (about 20 minutes west of Columbia). Here’s the link: Breakfast Table.
Fridge & Stove in Brookfield
A couple of items from the same Brookfield, Missouri, location posted on the Kirksville Craigslist. Proceeds benefit the Linn County Historical Society. Local pick-up only.
Coldspot Refrigerator. Does not work, but the seller thinks it could be fixed. I think the price is high for a non-working fridge, but maybe you can use it for something interesting.
$100 in Brookfield. Here’s the link: Vintage Coldspot Refrigerator.
General Electric Stove. Works (except the oven light).
$150 in Brookfield. Here’s the link: Vintage General Electric Stove.
