Columbia Craigslist

Vintage Desk.  I like this desk.  It looks a lot like the one I have at my house.  Nice Danish styling and tapered legs.  Useful but decorative.  Seller says it’s wooden and in fine condition, but I am sure that is veneer.  Mine cleaned up really nicely with Restor-A-Finish.  (I am not paid by Restor-A-Finish, but I am willing to sell out.)  The top of my desk is not even wood veneer, so I bought some glass for the top, which camouflages it nicely while providing some protection.  It was cheap and worth it.

$30 in Columbia.  Here’s the link: Wooden Desk.

Postal Sorting Table.  This is the kind of thing I love to see on Craigslist.  Who would not want this in their house?  Sure, it weighs 400 lbs, would take up my entire living room, and I have no practical use for it at all.  What is your point, exactly?  I want it.  It was just removed from service at the Armstrong, Missouri Post Office and was made in 1956.

$300 OBO in Moberly (30 minutes north of Columbia).  Here’s the link: Postal Sorting Table.

Matching Lamps.  These have a sort of newish look to them, but I’m reading the details and I think they are vintage.  I like the shade.  It looks vintage as well.  They would be great bedside lamps, don’t you think?  Seller says they’re in excellent condition.

$30 for both in Columbia.  Here’s the link: Matching Deco Lamps.

Columbia Craigslist

Heywood-Wakefield Desk.  Don’t cry.  Please don’t cry.  I know, someone painted a Heywood-Wakefield desk.  Not just painted, but PAINTED.  My mother would refer to this color as Thunder Blue.  A lot of atrocities are committed with Thunder Blue paint, I have to say.  Seller says you can strip it.  You can strip it, but at this price it’s not much of a deal.  Unless you’re handy like that, and you don’t cry easily.

$350 in Columbia.  Here’s the link: Heywood Wakefield Antique Wooden Desk.

Waterfall Bedroom Set.  I know these aren’t really modern at all, but art deco-ish, but I have a thing for them.  Something about the giant round mirrors seems so glamorous.  Includes vanity, dresser, and bed frame.  I assume the bench as well?  You better ask.

$250 in Carrollton.  Here’s the link: Bedroom set.

Wicker Fan Chair.  This is a deal!  If you buy this, you must send me a picture of you posing in it in a pink floaty organza dress and floppy hat.  I expect it!  Later it will be a good place for you to drape clothes and pile shoes.

$7 in Columbia.  Here’s the link: Wicker Chair.

Retro Dining Set.  Blond retro drop leaf table with six chairs, two piece hutch, and lighted dry bar.  Seller says it’s in great shape.  I love the style.  I want a dry bar.  Don’t we all?

$595 in Perry, Missouri (north of Mexico, about 1.5 hours from Columbia).  Here’s the link: Retro Dining Set.

Columbia Craigslist

Desk.  I like this desk- I think there’s something going on with the inlaid wood pattern on the drawers, and it has tapered legs.  Seller says it’s solid wood with a laminate top.  I have a similar shaped desk in my living room with a laminate top, but I got Brady Glass to cut a piece of beveled glass for the top of it, and you can’t tell it’s laminate with that.

$40 in Columbia.  Here’s the link: Desk.

Vintage Coke Machine.  Seller says it works and it is from 1960.  Takes bottles from 8 oz to 16 oz.  Rock on, then.

$500 in Columbia.  Here’s the link: Vintage Coke Machine.

Retro Swag Lamp.  Plastic or fiberglass globe with wood ‘petals’.  Definitely 60s era.  I can just imagine this in an entryway or kitchen nook.  It would be pretty cool!

$60 in Laurie (Lake of the Ozarks area).  Here’s the link: Retro Swag Lamp.

Caned Wicker Hanging Lamp.  Another one for the kitchen nook!  I love these caned dome lamps- I think it goes back to childhood in the 70s.  Or, well, childhood in the remnants of 70s decor, anyway.

$5 in Columbia.  Here’s the link: Caned Wicker Hanging Lamp.

Vintage Pagholz Chairs.  Seller says they were made in West Germany in the 1960s, though they look like they’ve at least been refinished.

$90 in Columbia.  Here’s the link: Vintage Mid-Century Modern Pagholz Chairs.

Retro Pole Lamp (same seller as bed below).  I assume this is vintage, though looking closer at those globe lights, I am not sure.

$20 in North Columbia.  Here’s the link: Retro Pole Lamp.

Vintage Metal Bed.  Full-size bed dating from 1940s.  Seller says it’s metal, so I don’t know what the woodgrain is.  I liked the shape, so I’m including it here.

$50 in North Columbia.  Here’s the link: Vintage Metal Bed.

Craigslist (Outside Columbia)

Bentwood Rocker.  A little pricey.  The seller is aware of what these go for on eBay but not willing to ship.  But it looks like it’s nice shape and I like these rockers.

$200 at Lake of the Ozarks.  Here’s the link: Rocker.

Wood Desk.  Another thing that is a little pricier than I would think, but these are usually solid desks, and this one looks like it is in good shape.

$100 in Eugene (about 20 minutes southwest of Jefferson City).  Here’s the link: School desk.

Slipper Chair.  Needs to be reupholstered, but I like the tapered legs.  If you chose a really bright modern patterned fabric, or even a solid-color boucle, and if you left the skirt off, it would be a cute addition to a bedroom or a nice chair for a corner in the house.

$15 in Jefferson City.  Here’s the link: Antique Chair.

Vintage Pyrex.  I believe this is the Butterprint pattern in blue.  The seller says that one dish has a chip, but the two smaller dishes are complete with lids.

$10 in Moberly (about 30 minutes north of Columbia).  Here’s the link: Pyrex Refrigerator Dishes.

Metal Rocking Lawn Chair.  Needs some paint, and then it’s perfect for your patio.

$20 in Jefferson City.  Here’s the link: Rocking Metal Lawn Chair.

Columbia Craigslist

Heywood-Wakefield.  The seller says there are four pieces for the price, but does not list what pieces there are or what the price is for each.  They are also in rough shape.  But the price doesn’t seem unreasonable for four pieces and the seller is willing to negotiate.

$750 in Harrisburg, Missouri (about twenty miles northwest of Columbia).  Here’s the link: Heywood Wakefield.

Anchor-Hocking Vintage Kitchenware.  There’s something about the brown pyrex color of these that screams 1970s to me.  And I love it!

$5 in someplace near Boonville or Fayette (I’m guessing).  Here’s the link: Anchor Hocking.

White Star Gas Range.  Yellow and looks pretty cool!  I like the doors on the side.  Are they storage?

$250 in Columbia.  Here’s the link: Vintage yellow gas stove.

Desk and Chair.  1950s vintage chair and desk.  Looks like it has a nice small footprint.  I love the details like the hairpin legs and handles on the desk, and what looks like a mottled gray color to the vinyl on the chair.  Cute!

$50 in Jeff City.  Here’s the link: Retro desk and chair.

Weekend Craigslist Roundup

I am home from a weekend out of town!  I got to visit an awesome vintage store in Springfield, Missouri.  I took a bunch of photos and I look forward to posting them with a review later this week.

In the meantime, I’ll round up a few items from local Craigslists from the long weekend.

Thonet Bentwood Rocking Chair!  Talk about vintage 1970 style.  It’s a statement to have one of these in your vintage home.

$150 in Lake Ozark (south of Osage Beach).  Here’s the link: Bentwood Rocker (on the Lake of the Ozarks Craigslist).

Vintage Steel Desks.  The seller has several of these and a bunch of industrial metal filing cabinets.

$50 in Jefferson City.  Here’s the link: Metal Office Desk.  (And here’s a link to the post about the filing cabinets.)

Flexsteel Rocker Recliners.  We’re all about the 1970s today at Retro CoMO!  These would warm up your home this fall with the comfortable rocking/reclining action and the burnt orange color.  I can’t tell what shape the upholstery is in, but it doesn’t look like it’s ripped up.

$20 in West Jefferson City.  Here’s the link: Flexsteel Rockers/Recliners.

Vintage Hutch/Display Cabinet.  Perfect for your dining room to display your collection of vintage Pyrex.  Looks like it is in nice condition, maple wood, with handles intact.  Are the door handles star-shaped?  I can’t quite tell and wish that Craigslist photography would improve overall.

$75 in New Bloomfield.  Here’s the link: Display Cabinet.

Vintage Chair.  This one looks like it needs some love.  That armrest is not actually attached to the chair (the guy is holding it on) and the upholstery needs to be redone, but I bet it would not be too difficult to reupholster this yourself since it has straight edges, more or less.  But what do I know?  I am very good about telling you about all these projects that you could do, and very bad about doing them myself.  It’s the enabler in me.  Still, it’s only $15.

$15 in Columbia.  Here’s the link: Vintage Chair.
